Liyongo

Beachside village at Kendwa, Zanzibar's northwest coast

Swahili-Influenced Village at Kendwa

Liyongo is a 60-villa development at Kendwa, on Zanzibar's northwest coast—beachside, a short walk to one of the island's finest swimming coasts.

Built as a village rather than a resort compound, the project draws on Swahili-influenced design, shared courtyards, and communal spaces, with rental infrastructure and management embedded from the outset.

Ubunifu is appointed sales and marketing operator for Liyongo, under an executed agreement with developer Christopher Nash—shaping commercial structure, positioning, and go-to-market strategy, and executing sales directly.

The Model

Villas are sold off-plan with a managed rental pool built into the ownership model. Owners have three weeks of personal use each year; the villa operates in the professionally managed rental pool the rest of the time, with income pooled and distributed back to owners.

Villas are releasing in three phases — Liyongo is currently in Phase 1, the Founders Release.
